Transaxle upgrade kit

Transaxle upgrade kit - please only purchase this upgrade if you are buying a self-build Toylander basic kit. If you already have a Toylander and wish to upgrade it please order the Transaxle retrofit upgrade kit. 

Once ordered together with a basic kit, you will be sent the kit with a 24v transaxle and fittings instead of the single motor, brake assembly and chain drive in the basic kit. Suitable for Toylander 1, 2, 3 and MB43 Willys Jeep. You will receive 2 of the wheels in the kit ready to fit onto the transaxle. This upgrade kit includes 2 x Town & Country drive wheels ready to fit to the transaxle, plus 1 extra battery.

Upgrade your Toylander self-build basic kit from 1x12v 180w motor to a 24v 500w transaxle motor. This provides more power and easier assembly and maintenance once built. The transaxle kit includes; 24v 500w transaxle motor & gearbox; mounting support brackets and fixings;  Uprated speed controller to operate the transaxle, also includes fitting instructions as this will differ from the basic kit build manual; All wiring from speed controller to transaxle and batteries. Also includes loom control cable from speed controller to circuit board, throttle pedal and dashboard switches. Throttle pedal, circuit board and switches are included separately in the basic kits.

The transaxle is fitted with an automatic brake which releases when the throttle pedal is pressed and comes on again when foot is lifted off throttle. Transaxle is also fitted with a manual brake release lever to allow the Toylander to be pushed. The transaxle requires 2x12v batteries to operate (Includes 1 extra battery if ordering this upgrade, 1 battery is already included in the basic kits).  Installation requires cutting a hole in the floor panel so the transaxle motor can sit up inside the vehicle body; plus drilling 8mm diameter holes through inside rear panels to mount support brackets.
